X-TREME Life
We'd like you to be one of us in living the X-TREME Life, but first there's a few things you have to know and do.
If you're perfect, don't read this. You won't need to.This is for everyone else. Actualy, it's for everyone because nobody is perfect. For those of you with oversized egos, it's time for a reality check.
(So none of us are perfect. What does that mean?) It means the one thing nobody wants to hear: we're all sinners. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and have come short of the Glory of God." Romans 6:23 says, "When people sin, they earn what sin gives-Death..." Hebrews 9:27 says, "Just as everyone must die once and be judged."
(So we're all going to Hell? Gimme a break) Unfortunately, yes: we're headed to Hell. It's not as bad as it could be, though.
(What do you mean?) I mean there's hope. God doesn't want you to die. He made you, and he loves us. Problem is, He's perfect and we're not. He can't have impurity around him, but he gives us a second chance to be made clean. Romans 5:8 says, "But god showed His great love for us in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners."
(Like anyone would really die for me. It all sounds too simple. What's the catch?) "Catch"? We'll I guess you could say it's a "catch." You have to accept the free gift of Jesus' life and turn from your sin to follow him. Ephesians 2:8-9 "You are saved by grace, through faith, not of your own doing. It's a gift of God."
(What does "saved through Faith" mean?) You have to believe in Jesus Christ, God's only son, and that he died to take away your sins then rose again the third day. Simply put, Faith is believing in what you can't see and what you don't know for sure, but hope for. {Hebrews 11:1}
(So how do I get this gift?) Just ask. It's really simple. You can talk to God right now. He's listening. If you don't know what to say, then say this:
God, I admit that I'm not perfect. I believe you love me anyway. I want to live with you forever in Heaven. I believe you sent your son to take my place on the cross. I believe he paid a price he didn't owe, a price that I should have paid, but he paid so I could live. I want him to live in me now and be my savior and Lord. Amen
(So I'm clean again, cool) If you really meant it with all your heart, yeah you're clean. But it doesn't stop there. Things won't be easy from now on. You used to belong to Satan, but you gave yourself back to God. Satan doesn't like losing his children. He'll do anything he can to get you to stumble and fall. This is where you start to live the X-TREME Life. With Jesus in your heart, you can stand up to Satan because Jesus is on your side just like a best friend. But as in any Friendship, If you don't spend time with him you loose touch with him. How can he take up for you if he doesn't know the problem? That's why you need to set a special time each day to be alone with him. Pray to him about whatever is happening. He'll talk back to you when you read his words in the Bible. The better you know Him, the better you can stand up in a fallen world. You have to go against the flow. When the world goes one way, you go the other. It sounds easy, but it's not. Your friends will probobley dump you. Your parents may give you a hard time.Your boss probobley doesn't want you to even mention Jesus. So what do you do? Don't give up. Keep telling people about the new life you've found. Let them see a change in your behavior and the way you treat others. Let them see that you're doing whatever it takes to follow Jesus. That's what it means to live the X-TREME Life. Can you handle it? With Jesus, YES YOU CAN!!!
