Welcome to Slaughter, La. If you're ever in our area, stop by and worship with us.
"God sent us an Angel to teach us"

No, we're not named after "The Great Massacre".
A dude named
William Slaughter founded our town, hence the name.
Although the massacre thing would of made it more interesting.
We're a Southern Baptist Chruch and believe it or not
chickens and gators aren't a part of our services
unless you count dinner on the grounds.
We're a small country church but we got alot of love.

This is the third Slaughter Baptist Church.
Our first church was a fine old Victorian
unfortunately......it burned to the ground.
We didn't have a fire dept. back then
and I don't think garden hoses
were invented yet. The second church was torn down
after this one was built.
Our first service in this church was December 19, 1976.
As a matter of fact our Paster Bro. Wicker preached that sermon.
He's been with our church almost 30 years now and we're honored to have him.
I wish you could meet our paster, he's awesome.
His personality is just like a big kid sometimes,
even though he's kinda old.
On Sundays Bro. Wickers eye's sparkle and he gets so hyper,
he can hardly wait to teach us about God.
He wasn't blessed with children, so the children of the church
are just like his, and he loves all of us.
We'd love to meet ya.

Bro. Basil Wicker
